Local Info is a network tool that lets you obtain information about local host and currently active version of the Windows Sockets.

You can use the Local Info tool to:

• Identify your computer on the network.
• Query your implementation of the Windows Sockets to determine what basic information is available.

To use the Local Info tool, do the following:

1. Select the Local Info tab.
   
   The Local Info tool displays the results in the Response area.
   
   
2. Click the Refresh button to update the results in the Response area.

Tip: You can right-click the Response area to display the pop-up menu.

Note:

To retrieve the MAC address of your network adapter you must to have the NetBEUI protocol installed and bound to this network adapter.
